Great Firewall of China (Golden Shield)

The chinese national firewall. Censors the Internet visible to Chinese users on a national scale, much of which is political. Uses both site blocks and keyword blocks.

Blocked Freenet 0.5 FNP around August 2005. Blocked the keyword "freenet", and the website, many years before that. Blocks DynDns.

Much of it is reputed to use Western-produced hardware.
